Thank goodness for modern medicine...

3 of my 4 children have had chronic ear infections since birth.  The two oldest had tubes put in when they were wee toddlers and last Thursday Z-man joined the club.  He had never had an ear infection until mid-April and then BAM he had 7!  Poor kid-poor momma!  He couldn't sleep when he had an ear infection, therefore, neither do I.  He would cry all night, therefore, so would I.  We were finally able to get him in to see a fabulous E.N.T (he was the surgeon for my first two) and schedule his surgery and now we cross our fingers  that the tubes work.
Z-man and I had to be at the hospital at 7am, they came and got him at 8:30 and we were home by 10:00.  WOW.  Modern medicine is amazing.   Seriously, I can't imagine living without these simple procedures that make a world of difference in people's lives.  I like to say that I could have been a pioneer woman-I really could have.  I can camp, hike, work, sorta cook, make port-a-potties, etc.  The only thing I would not have been able to do is birth a baby.  That actually would have killed me-seriously.  Again, hooray for modern medicine and C-sections!  Anyway, here are a few cell phone pics of the my angel baby just before the procedure.
okay, now before you go, "Ohhhh, poor baby!", let me tell you why he is screaming...I took away the remote that he thought was a shot-put.

He wouldn't keep his fuzzy socks on.

He just wandered around the halls and his room for an hour and a half.  He looked like a duck in that gown.  So blasted cute.

2nd half of Glacier

As promised, here are the last couple of days at Glacier.  It has taken me longer to post these due to sickness, a baby getting tubes, and more sickness.  I am SICK of sickness!  Anyhoo, here ya go...
We  cheated by going to see bears in "captivity"

Great Grandma was able to come with us

Great Grandpa-we were so blessed to be able to have them come on this vacation with us.  I never knew my Great grandparents, so this is very special for me to have my children know their great grandparents.

It's a good thing we bought a suburban...

Yes that is correct.  I am now the proud owner of an official "Mormon" wagon-the Suburban.  We have been looking for a bit with no real rush to buy, but with our vacation coming upon us quickly, we acted a bit faster.  Thank goodness, too!  Hey, now I have a vehicle for RAGNAR next year!  Hip hip hooray!
Focus Lisa, focus...For Christmas '09, Trevor's parents gave all of us a week's vacation to Glacier National Park.  They rented a 5 bedroom, 5 bathroom home for us to stay in and all 23 of us made the 13 hour drive up to the northern yonder.  I was SOOOOOO glad to have my car.  Not only is there plenty of room for the 6 of us, but CARGO SPACE GALORE!!!!!  Don't get me wrong, I LOVED my Explorer, but I had no cargo space.  I could probably fit AT LEAST 5 strollers in the back of my car.  It's awesome. After loading the kids, the crap, the movies, the food, etc, etc, we still had room to spare.  Nice.
So, we got to Glacier on Monday night; Tuesday we drove into the park-GORGEOUS VIEWS!!! We hiked to a few waterfalls and the entire time I was scared to death we would see a grizzly.  After all, there are signs EVERYWHERE reminding us that we are in Grizzly Country.  Hm.  Wednesday we went to Whitefish ski resort and rode the Alpine slide, took the Gondola to the top and ate and looked around for a while.  Again-GORGEOUS VIEWS!  Oh yeah, did you know the sun rises around 6 am and sets around 10pm???  And gorgeous sunrise/sunsets they were.  Thursday back to the park where we hiked in  to a beautiful lake (Avalanche Lake) and we were even surprised to see a bunch of Rams and Mountain Goats.  Friday we took the kids to a fun park where they rode go-carts, bumper boats, played miniature golf and we made our way through a maze.  So much fun.  We then went back into the Park and rented a motorboat and went out on Lake McDonald.  We had so much fun seeing the views from a different perspective.  Then on Saturday it was back home to reality and the 11 hour drive-again. I was sooooo glad to have my suburban.  Now if only they made them with bathrooms.....
There were too many pictures to include, so here is from Days 1,2,  & 3.
Off on our journey.

He lasted until the last hour or so..

So cute!

Yes, I took him on the Slide

Blah....

Lolo woke up this morning with the heave's and the ho's...such a fantastic way to wake up.  I usually like to wake up to a new and glorious morning with a positive outlook on life.  Not today.  To make things worse, I am not feeling too hot and I need to get my rear end out on some cross training adventures.  My half marathon is in 2 weeks!  AAAAUUUURRRRGGGHH!
Back to Lolo, poor kid is just lying around and mopey (sp?).  She's hungry, but not hungry; she's tired but not tired.  Poor Diva is BORED.TO.DEATH.  My mom is coming to get her and take her out on a Grandma date, but Diva is too impatient.  I wonder where she gets that from, hmmmmm.....
Trevor took Sporty backpacking in the mountains with my brother and his kid for a night, so I had originally planned to have a girls night, but it's amazing how life changes in a blink of an eye.  Luckily my blink just brought a stomach bug and nothing more serious.  I am truly blessed.
As I finished writing this, I looked down to see my precious Lolo sleeping on the ground.  Poor kid.  Love you!

Sweet conversation...

Lolo:  Mom, why you call me honey an sweetie?
Mom:  Because I love you and that's what I call all of you.  Do you want me to stop calling you that?
Lolo:  Yes.
Mom:  What would you like me to call you instead?
Lolo:  Kid.
Mom:  Kid?
Lolo:  Yup, kid.
Mom:  Okay, Kid.

Random...

So my family is getting ready to go on a nice LONG vacation tomorrow and I am supposed to be packing right now...but as you can I see, I am not.  Do you ever have that feeling that it's just not the right time to start the packing, that it can start later, or am I just REALLY good at procrastination?  I know, it's random, but I wanted to post something before we left.  A fun post will be arriving in a week.  Have a random week, ya'll.

PS my half marathon training saw Bradi (my sis-in-law) and I on a nice 8.5 miler on Saturday.
